The Shadows Between Us follows Alessandra as she tries to marry the Shadow King and take his kingdom for herself.
The new Shadow King is crowned after the murder of his parents so Alessandra’s task is extremely vary of everyone. His power is also unknown, can he control the shadows around him?
Maybe even speak to them? But Alessandra is determined and knows what she wants, nothing will get in her way. This book was simply just entertaining. There was no complex plot or anything like that so if that is something you look for in a book, this one might not be for you. T
he “not like other girls” trope is one that I don’t like at all and Alessandra was sort of like that. The first night she met the king, she wore a different colored dress and didn’t speak to him because she wanted to be different and catch his eye that way.
At the end of this book, I felt no attachment to any of the characters and even had to look back at the book to remember Alessandra’s name when writing this.
Overall, I will say that this was a fun read, just not reread worthy. If you want to read it, I recommend checking it out at the library.
