Daughter of the Pirate King follows Alosa as she tries to retrieve an ancient map. She allows herself to get captured by an enemy pirate crew in order to be able to search their ship.
This book was extremely exciting and I enjoyed the many plot twists and turns. Even though it was a fast start, the beginning of this book was hard for me to get into. I wasn’t as hooked as I expected to be but the middle and end made up for it.
In my opinion, the story really picked up in the second book with us discovering some things about the pirate king. Overall, this duology was very fun and fast paced.
I would recommend this to a beginner to the fantasy genre and am excited to read more from this other.
